AUSTRALIA "We came to Barcelona to see Gaudi and how lucky were we to have a little bit of him in the apartment!. This was a wonderful base for exploring. We could walk everywhere and trains where not far when we needed them. The festival of the three Kings was a highlight as was our night at the Font Montjuic. The Mango outlet and the sales were the attraction for our 26 year old daughter. We leave with stuffed suitcases!. This apartment had everything we needed to make this a truly memorable holiday. We leave with very happy memories, due in no small part to the wonderful hospitality of Isabel and Mike. WALES "We had a great 6 days in Barcelona, we thought the apartment would be nice from the description on the internet and we were not disappointed at all. It was lovely to be in such a nice area and we hadn't realised how easy it would be to get to all the great sites of the city from this wonderful location. We liked your helpful recommendations and saw some things we may not have seen otherwise. We could still have had longer though - as there is so much more to see - maybe a good reason to comeback someday. Comerc24 is a must a culinary experience that rates in our top 3 of all time. (Warning muy caro!!) Casa Calvet just as great as a year ago. We have been to Barcelona a few times but the location here was perfect and ideal as it was walking distance to the centre but far enough away to feel you were mingling with the locals. When the kids went to bed, Simon and I enjoyed the al fresco dining on the balcony. Will definitely be back and will highly recommend it to friends and family. For a city of such scale and depth Barcelona is immensely liveable and "Sweet Home Barcelona" with the visual pleasure of the tiles and the unexpected satisfactions of the library ranging from buying property in Spain to Vicki Christina Barcelona encapsulates what's good in the city." Your apartment is perfectly loacted close to great restaurants, bus routes and within the living museum of modernism. Our month here flew by! We particularly enjoyed: ARTicket - which allows entry to 7 museums for 22 Euro; MNAC is superb! Kaiten sushi - a conveyor belt of Japanese-style food; it's really good value especially during the week. Yelmo cinemas - movie house showing movies in their original lnaguage. Take bus 41 which drops you off in front of the mall in which the cinema can be found. There's a good coffee place and Japanese restaurant next door. Olympic Port beaches - Take bus 41 to reach this beach (walk through the El Centre de la Villa mall, cross over the road and veer left at the beach front). We preferred this beach to the others as there weren't any pebbles/rocks in the shallows. L'altra Llossa - our favourite local fare restaurant. We appreciated the great books, DVDs and guides in the apartment and made good use of them. Thanks also for the warm welcome. We will have very fond memories of our stay here." We hiked to park Güell and back, went to Ciudadela park for pictures & picnic, midweek went to Barceloneta for lunch and nice stroll along the bay front. Purchased our paella pan from Ingles as a souvenir to take home - had some great tapas and wonderful Spanish wines! We had a fun week - it went by too quickly. We walked almost everywhere and took the metro when needed which was right down the street. What I can say most about our stay was what incredibly hospitable and kind people that we rented from! They were extremely helpful in many ways from finding restaurants, renting a car for the day, places to visit, etc.You cant go wrong renting this apartment with such good folks as these. Thanks for a warm welcome and the very informative guide book, which we've used a lot specially the local shops you recommended. We went to the restaurant Casa Alfonso twice. The food is excellent and the place has lots of charm and originality. Your apartment is well equipped with all we needed included towels, sheets etc. The location is perfect. We've been all over Barcelona in the beginning by foot. The last days taking the metro and buses, which made the transportation very easy. It could had been fun to borrow your bikes and rent some for our kids. We´ll try that next time. Barcelona is a beautiful city. We´ll love to come back. The weather have been splendid and we've enjoyed to go to the beaches almost every day. The restaurant is lovely but one fish was awful & cold, when sent back all they did was re-heat it and wouldn't take the cost off the bill!. We walked for hours every day, most often choosing to walk through the interesting streets of the city to our destination rather than taking the metro. When we did take the metro we were surprised by how many metro stops were in close walking distance of your apartment. Your red "guide book" made everything easy from getting groceries to choosing restaurants. The apartment was perfect for us and ideally situated for all the main sights. We ate one night at "Tapa Madre" nearby which was very good.
